Welcome

Organized to promote an ideal business environment by maintaining and enhancing a support network to improve communication between businesses, and to provide a forum for concerns and projects that will promote the community as an ideal place to live, work, and visit.

We will offer a variety of family-oriented events such as health fairs, competitive bed races, bicycle rodeos for the children, sidewalk sales, BBQs, free concerts, holiday strolls, cookie decorating for the children, open houses at local businesses, antique car parades, festivals and arts/crafts fairs, fireworks, ceremonial bon fires, cardboard boat races, chalk art contests, sand sculpture contests, community clean-up days, parades, pie contests, arts/cultural weekends, and much, much more.

We want to Promote Dennis as an enjoyable place to live, work, and play, as well as a fun place for our guests and tourists to visit.

Two businesses move from Dennisport Village.

Village Floors has moved to its new location at the Crossings, Route 134 in South Dennis.

Puzzles, Toys and More have moved to their new location in the Old Dennis Chamber building at 242 Swan River Rd., West Dennis. (Corner of Routes 134 and 28)

Please stop by to say Hi and wish them luck in their new locations.

Fireworks & Antique Car Motorcade

There will be fireworks in Dennis during the Dennis Summerfest, August 16th. (The rain date will be August 17th.)

Also, the proud owners of pre-1976 vehicles, will be parading the streets of Dennis on August 17th for the 50th ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE. Yes, the Dennis Small Business Association is now hosting the longest running, antique car parade in Dennis.

CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA

CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA, held at the Sundancers Landing, on Route 28 in West Dennis, MA. Event postponed to July 11/12?? because of bad weather. This is a great, fun event for the whole family. The Cape Cod AMVETS sponsor this event and we help them with advertising, publicity, and anywhere needed. We had many members of our group making boats for this event last year.

We are challenging you to try to “make a better boat” and to see if it will stay afloat for the entire course.

Last year only one boat sank – (They didn’t attend the Boat-making class!!)

For those who said they didn’t have time to make their boat – have an extra three weeks!!

DENNIS SUMMERFEST

Bed Races

Busineses have risen to the challenge and have built their beds in hopes of winning the coveted trophy, which is presently held by Dennisport General Store.

This event will have an emcee/announcer and will be a lot of fun.

Vendors include Walt’s Hot Dogs and Krista K’s Ice Cream.

FAMILY NIGHT OUT with FIREWORKS

FAMILY NIGHT OUT – FIREWORKS. This event takes place on West Dennis Beach. There will be a bonfire (ceremonial burn), marshmallow toasting.

The Twenty-Eight Band will be playing beach party tunes. It should be fun for people of all ages.

We will have a short ceremony to honor our men and women in the armed forces, serving overseas as well as in the states, sponsored by the Cape Cod Amvets.

At dusk, a spectacular FIREWORKS display will take place, put on by ATLAS Pyrotectic Co of NH.

A shuttle bus will be available at the Ezra H. Baker School and will be taking people to and from the Fireworks fro 4:30 on.

Bike Rodeo/Chalk Art

The bike rodeo, will be held at the Ezra H. Baker School this year. The Chalk Art will be at the same time at the Ezra H. Baker School, West Dennis, both events will be held in the lower parking lot. Sponsored by the Dennis Police Dept., Dennis Small Business Association, and the DY Kiwanis Club. Bring the kids to learn bike safety. The Dennis Police Officers will be on hand to explain the “Rules of the Road” and give demonstrations. Prizes will be awarded.

The Chalk Art is sponsored by the Boudreau Business Center. Children will sweep their spot, and create their own unique art. Prizes will be awarded.
